I’m an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

My research explores the ethics and moral psychology of resisting oppression. I am especially interested in the normative reasons individuals have for (and against) resistance, what resistance entails for people who are differently situated, and how oppression shapes the pursuit of a meaningful life. My recent publications address a range of under-theorized resistance practices, including what I call Quiet Resistance, and the virtues that are displayed by individuals who engage in them.

I teach a variety of courses, including Ancient Greek philosophy (especially Plato), social-political philosophy, ethics, and feminist/antiracist philosophy.

I earned my Ph.D. from UNC Chapel Hill in 2019 and my B.A. from the American University of Beirut in 2013.
